Heartbeat kick

HELP! I've been trying to create a kick with the quality in this song, DJ Krush Duality -

I love the heart beat like quality to it.
I've tried so many things to achieve this with no success. Searching through samples, sampling kicks on records, layering ...

Sigur Ros Kick drum

I love the organic kick drums in Sigur Ros' music.
Does anyone know where I can get samples similar to this sound???
It has a slight muffledness to it, which I love. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: How do you add dynamics to programmed beats or loops?

It definitely makes the drums more realistic sounding.
Try getting a hold of the Drum Kits from Hell Sample pack. They are sampled at various velocities, and you can experiment.

Re: How do you add dynamics to programmed beats or loops?

Hi Sebastian,

Do you understand what Midi is? If you don't, I would suggest going to this site and reading everything.
http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm

A midi beat is something you program on your own. Midi is information you send to an instrument for it to do something (like play a note).

Re: Hard Hitting Drum Samples

I've considered sampling from songs I like but I guess I'm seeking more pure/dry samples so I could apply my own room and processing.
I just find it odd that I go through a lot of acoustic sample sets and the loudest hit kick/snare isn't nearly the dynamic of the type of sound I'm looking for. Even ...

Hard Hitting Drum Samples

Does anyone know a good sample set that has Acoustic Kicks/Snares that sound like they are being smacked and played really hard?

I'm trying to get some sounds like the beginning of these songs. Really looking to get that tone and character and not just having loud samples.

DIY Parts

Hello everybody,

I thought I'd try to start my first DIY project with an old PCR-50 keyboard. I want to change it into a foot pedal and so I'm trying to figure out what might be the best way to change the keys into pedals. Are there any sites that sell good parts for this sort of thing? Any help ...

Re: Plugging in my Guitar? What cables?

If you just want to record one input (your GTR), try the M-Audio Jam Lab.

Basically what you need is an audio interface with a "hi-z" input. Most normal sized interfaces have this.

Here are a list of interfaces:

GUI

I have always had this issue but Live 8's GUI is worse the version 7. Whenever I open a Midi Clip or Wav clip and watch the playback, the current time bar seems to struggle and is choppy. It's especially choppy if I move my mouse around. It seems to also be worse with longer clips. Does anyone else ...
