Getting pops and crackles with plugin at 50%-60% cpu load
Not sure why - Im using Ableton 8.1.5 on osx 10.6.4 with Xils 3LE on a mpb 13inch. Cant tell whether its a problem on their end or abletons, and Im wondering is anybody experiencing the same thing? Sample rate and buffer sizes are normal and working and rechecked them just in case. I used to get cpu ...

Rotary knobs, vsts and ableton...
Hi,
Im having a bit of a headache with my midi keyboard and ableton and rotary knobs. Im using an axiom 49 1st gen, and I use the keyboard to control a midi instrument within ableton - that parts totally fine. Is there a way to sort of dump the CURRENT knob values from the vst TO the midi keyboard ...

Saving and organizing midi drum idioms and phrases
What would be the best way to go about collecting and organizing midi drum phrases that have taken you hours to work out? Rolls or fills you like to quickly have on hand to put in another project? But midi, no audio loops. So the quality can stay the same and you can tweak and use other drumkits ...

Re: Profire 2626 issues/crashes
Sorry to have to be the one to tell you, but chances are its the profire thats at fault. I bought one recently too knowing that there might be some issues with the profire in general after having read the angry m-audio forum. But was a little naive in thinking m-audio were going to fix the drivers ...

Re: Standalone midi trigger pad to usb?
Ah, I see, i didnt realize they were mic driven. Even then - i still cant see it justifying the expense for a single trigger. The m4l idea will be an expensive experiment alright! But best of luck if you give it a shot! Questions still out there for finding a cheap standalone single or dual cc midi ...

Re: Standalone midi trigger pad to usb?
ive been looking for the same thing. i bought some drum trigger pads and had some success with just plugging them into my soundcard and using this plug in - http://www.apulsoft.ch/
this lets you a sample and it triggers well - with velocity.
but i agree - there has got to be something better out ...

Standalone midi trigger pad to usb?
Ive been looking at something like the Alesis Pro Dual Z Pad. Its at the price I want, and the features and its basic - and Im pretty sure you cant simply connect it to a computer without some other audio equipment attached (Im assuming a midi to usb translator thing). Is in the hundreds seriously ...

Re: Tempo changes and slow downs
Em, yeah - why? I thought the only values any midi device can send are 0 - 127? What do see the problem being? Think the slider works better - I mean, for tempo slow downs, setting the min and max values from 140BPM to even 100BMP is alot, and for a live performance you only need an approximation ...

Re: Tempo changes and slow downs
Wow su, thanks so much for that - had no idea that could be done so easily with renaming scenes - Thank you so much! I dont understand the master bus assignment bit though, which is what Im most after (although the route above will help greatly too) if any one could let me know how that works Id be ...

Re: Tempo changes and slow downs
Thanks for that, its an interesting way to deal with ableton for time signatures, but not quite what Im looking for. I think the best I could hope for is controlling the tempo with a slider or knob - is this possible? I work almost exclusively in the session view, so need a way to do this..

Tempo changes and slow downs
Whats the best way to achieve this? The tempo nudge downs button arent effective for what I want to do with my band - is there anyway I can set the tempo to a keyboard midi slider, and just push up or down the tempo manually? If thats not possible, is there any effective way of resetting the "1 ...
