People just learn to lose many hours of their life to working around these basic problems, because Ableton's GUI is so intentionally minimal lol. It's ironic how cluttered the workarounds end up being.

Im looking up how to map a foot pedal to "launch the selected clip" so I can record loops hands-free in to the session view.

yeah, honestly at this point I enjoy seeing FL have more technical pro features than Ableton. I don't even use FL but I see the humour in the situation. What do you think ableton, mapping curves in 2035? too soon?

I want this so that I can
- export multiple sound files by making a single long render of them all from ableton, and then use the metadata markers to easily cut them into separate files using a sound editor.
- also like the OP, it'd be v useful when exporting files to different daws & sessions ...

as title says - delay compensation is not applied when using the "capture midi" function, so captured midi is out of sync.

way out of sync if a delay heavy plugin (eg waves soundshifter) exists anywhere on the session.
