Love Audio Ease for their software, hate their
one authorization challenge response policy. It's not even PACE here, Nomad Factory allow two authorizations, it's all Audio Ease. The logic board died on my laptop during the Christmas season, it took nearly two weeks to get my authorization back for Speakerphone. With Live PACE will lock you out of any song with Audio Ease plug ins in it, Live will crash when you try to load the song. This is not acceptable to me, and why I mention it any time I can. I did try talking to them about it, but no response to my emails after getting my authorization back. They simply decided that it's better to have challenge response customers screwed than to "risk" studios running two copies of Altiverb on two computers with one authorization; that was the reason given and they are fucked IMO for thinking like that. Just like Cycling is fucked for not allowing one to resell Max/MSP. Dongles wise, see sparklepuff's post above... I almost dropped a Logic XSkey (when Logic had a dongle) into the gutter when it fell off my keychain.... fuck dongles as well. Sure, you can insure them, couple that with upgrades and software becomes even more of a confidence scam. When companies stop treating paying customers like criminals, I'll stop doing what I can to paint them out as the goose stepping anal retentive brown shirts they are.
Again, I love their software, (cycling, audio ease, dongled stuff in general) but when I'm not getting the same ease of use as a guy who torrents a nice stable krack of the same software, then there's something horribly wrong going on.
