ableton no longer able to receive midi mappings?
hi there
i run a fairly simple ableton set on stage.
i use an old axiom 25 to trigger samples, with each scene representing a different song.
on certain songs, i use one of the mpc-ish 'pressure pads' to send a 'scene launch' command to live.
the whole setup has worked fine for years but all of ...

Re: Very short audio drop outs at 3-4% CPU
i haven't tried a 400-to-800 cable yet, as i don't have one though that is definitely on the list. have others experienced problems with the adapters?

Re: Very short audio drop outs at 3-4% CPU
yeah we tried changing it higher, than back lower, and it still had the random dropouts. i do want to keep the buffer fairly low for latency's sake, as we are triggering these drum and key samplers live. i don't anticipate that should be too much of a problem since Live is doing so little. It was ...

Re: Very short audio drop outs at 3-4% CPU
A little more information, I am powering the Profire via the firewire port, and a single MIDI chord (from a drum pad) is running into the Profire. Otherwise, we're using one USB chord for the (also M-Audio) keys controller.

Very short audio drop outs at 3-4% CPU
Hi all
I'm a new Live user. I'm using it for very, very basic stuff for performing live - its playing a couple backup tracks and sending samples to a drum and keyboard controller. the CPU meter is at 3-4%.

Re: How to trigger next scene with *one* click via MIDI?
I realize that the problem I was having is that CC messages wont do it, but MIDI notes will. dunno if that's a glitch or I just don't understand MIDI well enough, but its working fine now with a MIDI note. thank you all for your efforts! very appreciated.

How to trigger next scene with *one* click via MIDI?
Hi all
I have a quite simple question that is nonetheless vexing me.
Is it possible to trigger the next scene in session view via MIDI?
If I'm using the computer keyboard, the "return" button will do this - lets say scene 7 is playing. Hitting "return" will begin scene 8.
However, via my MIDI ...

incredibly basic problems with MIDI map mode
hey all
this is an incredibly entry-level aspect of live, but or some reason i just cannot make it work.
i'm simply trying to set a note on a MIDI keyboard controller to trigger the 'scene launch' function. i can set this easily with a keystroke in key map mode, but for some reason i simply cannot ...

Different settings times for different samples in Sampler?
Hey all
Is it possible to have different release times (or any other setting) for different samples within a single instance of Sampler?
My question is specifically regarding a bass sound and a synth sound. I want the bass sounds to play fully no matter how long I hold down a key, but I want the ...

Drum racks and chain selector?
Hi there
I'm putting together a set that will be used on stage. I am planning to use chain selector to switch between groups of samples for specific songs. There will be two MIDI controllers, one for keys and one for drums. the keys controller is fairly easy to set up via instrument racks, chain ...

Re: mapping different samples to different scenes/songs?
hey there
i understand what you're saying, that's good advice. all i'm asking is how the program is handling these chain selector commands. are all the other samples on C#1 all being triggered (and thus hitting processor) even though they aren't being heard? eventually there could be, say, 15 songs ...
