Re: Live 11 offers less than 50% of Live 10
After a bit more experimentation, I realized I have the custom Live device for my Nektar Aura still loaded in the master channel as my default Live project. I removed that and notice a significant drop in CPU utilization (still not a silver bullet though). It still works fine in Live 10. I heard ...

Re: Live 11 offers less than 50% of Live 10
I noticed the same thing when I first fired up Live 11. I never had performance issues with 10 and I wouldn't expect to since I have a 14-core i9-7940X with 64GB of RAM. I got a drum track going in the native drum sampler, fired up the Roland Cloud TB-303 and got a pattern playing over it, then ...

If Live could just transmit and sync to MIDI Time Code (SMPTE) instead of just MIDI Clock, we'd be in good shape!

Multi-touch support for Windows 7 and an interface that lends itself to using touch. Either built into the main interface or as an alternate window.

Nevermind. Turns out my USB cable was damaged and it kept cutting in and out.

APC40 Stopped Working Mid-performance
Last night I was performing with my APC40 and it just stopped controlling Live at the end of my second mix. I have never had this issue before. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with my new laptop. I have a Dell Studio 1747 Touch with Windows 7 64-bit. I reinstalled the OS when I got it ...

Re: Limited Live implementation on iPad
My point is, touch the actual application and not have to deal with some freaky Apple protocols like Bonjour that could break.
How is the Bonjour protocol "freaky" and what do you base your assertion on that it "could break"? Or are you just talking out of your ass?

Re: iPad App from ABLETON
Why not just use Live on a multi-touch PC under Windows 7 and make the Live interface more touch-friendly?
Because a PC running Windows 7 with a touch screen does not equal "more touch friendly". Windows 7's touch screen feature is a combination of the old pen-centric Tablet PC and the hand/finger ...

Re: WePad as a midi-controller
Again, Windows 7 + multi-touch PC + touch friendly update to Live = best solution
A PC running Windows 7 with a touch screen is a total FAIL. Windows 7's touch screen feature is a combination of the old pen-centric Tablet PC and the hand/finger-centric Surface Table. Many, if not most, of the ...

Re: Custom controller interface builder for the iPad.
I say forget iPad and just build it right into Live. There are a number of multi-touch PCs out there and I'm sure Apple with do the same with MacBooks at some point. Windows 7 has the multi-touch baked right in, just update Live to understand the input and give you an interface designer.

Re: Limited Live implementation on iPad
I don't think you guys are getting my point in this thread. Why carry an iPad when you could have the touch screen built right into the laptop running Live? I don't care who makes it, it just so happens the only powerful multi-touch laptop I can find is a Dell Studio 17 Touch, but I'm sure others ...

Re: My dream iPad multitouch remote App interface
If the Live interface were just designed to be a little more touch friendly, we wouldn't need external apps or another device. Just install Live on a multi-touch machine running Windows 7. I'm sure Apple will be putting multi-touch in OS X and MacBook Pro soon enough too.

Re: Limited Live implementation on iPad
I can't understand how there are so many people wanting a touch screen interface for Live and screaming iPad and nobody seems to know about multi-touch PCs and Windows 7 having multi-touch support built in. Why would anyone want to carry a laptop and an iPad to a gig just to control Live? Not to ...

Re: Request for Ableton iPad app
Why not just make Ableton more touch friendly and run it on a multi-touch enabled computer? The Dell Studio 17 Touch is a prime example, a big high res multi-touch screen with lots of computing horsepower under the hood.
