Re: New Seattle Group
What's the word on the meetup? I'm actually in the process of building a new mac (yeah, building... shhh) so my files and drives are all in shambles but I should be able to throw a fresh copy of live 8 on my old macbook pro (the poor bugger is limping these days, it might very well be the end of it ...

I could be in, depending on the place and time.
I live up in Kenmore and have a week-day job.

Re: Bypassing plugins on master buss
I've experienced the latency added by ozone... but disable it and the latency is gone here.
I'm on an apogee ensemble which has been pretty solid with low latency though...I'm guessing its time to upgrade hardware or do some tinkering with your settings... or you're doing something wrong.

recommend a bluetooth mouse for OS X
I have a BT mighty mouse that I refuse to put batteries in any longer. The scroll ball is also junk. I don't think I'll like the new mighty mouse.
Some of the *GASP* microsoft mice have caught my eye, and they claim to be OS X compatible. Yes, it has to be wireless, and it has to be bluetooth ...

Re: dim too bright leds
only proper way would be to crack it open and install larger value resistors between the LED and the V+
if you're talking about the rotary LEDs, that might be difficult depending on the package they're in, but still doable.
why not look into getting a tinted sheet of overlay plastic and covering ...

Re: Electrician types, home circuit question/issue
Yeah, since you think the GFCIs arent tripping and the breaker hasnt tripped, it sounds like a wire nut came apart or popped out of a push terminal towards the very beginning of the branch circuit. if there are NO receptacles functioning on the circuit, look at the very first. turn the breaker off ...

Re: How do i get a really heavy guitar/bass sound?
define "heavy", first of all.
Assuming you mean semi-straightforward, modern-day heavy metal (ex. Mastodon) and not wall of fuzz doom or some kind of spastic tech grindmetal or black metal or something here's what I'd do.
stay away from the high gain amps, or at least dial the gain waaayyy back ...

Re: Recording Midi Ouput via Beat Repeat/Livecut?
do you mean recording the automation lines?
if thats the case, you could duplicate your instrument track and once you've got a few sequences you like from recording in the arrangement view, expand and add the automation curves tracks so that you can isolate and copy all the automation lines at once ...

Re: lucky i sold my lemur today
I'm guessing this thing is going to be a giant ipod touch with a 3g network ability. app store only is 90% certain, meaning the best thing we'll get as far as touch surface control is similar to novation's crappy app... That is unless somebody decides to go through the trouble of developing/writing ...
