Check out M-Audio for audio interfaces / sound cards

You will want to get some Vsti's (virtual software instruments) also which you can pick up for free too start with until you have more of an idea of what you want and are doing check out www.kvraudio.com for these.

Cheers onslaught.. It happened the presets are available on the disc anyway named Impulse. I just assumed this was the drum machine haha.

Taught me how to so just follow its instructions and you will be on your way. It can be pretty annoying at first but just stick to it and you will get it.

Yeh external is the go if that is the case.. Have a look at some M-audio external soundcards..

Ok so i am recording audio from battery into ableton. Usually i can trigger the cells in battery using the keyboard as its armed but as the midi track is not armed anymore because the audio one im recording into is i am unable to use the keyboard and have to use the mouse.

I am trying to record single hits from battery into ableton. I have put it in the midi track, armed the track, it is getting sound levels when i hit battery and i have put it on record.

So why isnt it recording? It seems as though everything is working fine as Ableon responds with levels when ...

Or how do i find out what i have made mine?
