I wouldn't do that. That's so tedious... and i don't think making music should be tedious at all.
I understand your 'lack of workflow', it sucks becouse you don't finish tracks. If you are not very good programing sounds then i would practice. If you are, then i would try to break your patterns ...

I don't think you can do that.
What you can do is to select the track you want to move and to use ctrl+ arrow keys to replace it. I think it works in sess view only.

No no... you have to drag to arr view, then ctrl+j and the drag back to sess view.
I don't have live in this computer, but it seems weird to me that you can't consolidate in sess view anyway...

You can record the output of your audiocard. You need to repatch of course, but yeah, this is the way to do it. This gives you the opportunity to check your real latency too...

Not sure, but i would say that if you unwarp it from the clip view the file returns to the original.
