Over the years, I have downloaded demos for many plugins. Most of these demos are expired. So they show up in Ableton but I can't use them. I'd like to delete all my expired plugins. The problem is I don't know how.

Does Ableton have an equivalent to Logic's "bounce in place", which "duplicates" a track except the new track is an audio track where the audio sample is processed (rather than being processed)?

Say you're trying to reduce frequency masking. Is there a way to have the audio for two different tracks show up on the spectrum analyzer? So that you don't have to use two plugins (one on each track) and flip back and forth between the two tracks.

Or perhaps there's a third-party plugin for this ...

Ok. I'll contact support. Yes, of course it's a legit copy. Catalina. All VSTs. Strings Ensemble. Nexus. Those are two that come to mind. No MIDI hardware attached. As far as how it sustains. I'd love to attach a video but it looks to me like there's no functionality for that in this forum.

Just following up on this. I'm still getting the problem. Thank you in advance for any advice.

To rename tracks, I hit command + R.

Here's the problem. Suppose you want to rename a track, "snare". You select the track, hit command + R, type "snare"... and whoops, you just deleted the # at the beginning of the track's name.

Of course, you could just hit command + R, then the right arrow ...

I'm watching a tutorial where someone automates pitch in a different DAW. Can it be done in Ableton?

I’ve been using it, it seems pretty useful. I rarely need to access it, but I feel safe knowing that every time I save my project it’s being backed up automatically.


So use save projects to your Splice folder? Have any problems with that? I hear it's not best practice to do that.

A recurring problem I experience is that VSTs I use sustain indefinitely, and I do mean indefinitely. I get this problem in different songs, with different VSTs, both Ableton VSTs and plugin VSTS.

Anyone have this problem and know how to resolve it?

A couple hundred 3-minute pop songs. 60-120 tracks each. If I perform a collect and save, each one is 1.5 gig or so. I wouldn't say I use loads of big audio files but I use some sample loops. A lot of MIDI.
