Re: Sync Latency Compensation DISASTER

I have no idea what's up with Ableton, but I have noticed several pieces of software whose direction has changed or quality has suffered for reasons unknown. Whether it's someone leaving the team, someone taking over, or developing a bubble is impossible to say unless you have inside knowledge. I ha...

Re: MIDI 2.0

There's no need to change anything over. Bluetooth, Ethernet, Thunderbolt, USB, 5-pin... Whatever is most the convenient. I'm sure adapters will be available. There's already Bluetooth to USB and 5-pin. Transport-agnostic is a good thing.

Maybe there's something from M4L that will do this.

I said I wouldn’t mind the option. In actuality, I’d really enjoy it. 😊

Completely definable key commands and more of them...

Yes, I know this has been broached numerous times, but I’m being squeaky. The current implementation of a few is a gigantic tease. Just make them all configurable, provide import/export and a reset button. That’s got to be what? A half day’s work?

Re: Key Scale and Chord Tracks to Improve Composing

Man, it gets really tiring hearing people bash a company because it doesn't do things exactly the way they want. Many musicians have zero need for chord tracks or scale constraints. But they are there if you need them, just not in the form you're used to.

Re: Ableton 10 suggestions

Well, from an editing point of view, you're seeing the notes vertically in terms of pitch which is the way notation is. That makes a great deal of sense if you're not a keyboard player. I wouldn't mind the option, but not as the only way to see it.

Re: Ableton 10 suggestions

Might be nice to be able to switch it. Does any DAW do this? I only see it with piano player apps. Synthesia, etc.

Re: A way to find the date a Project was created

Not trying to be a wise ass, but putting a date in the name is something I learned a long time ago. It's simply the way file systems work. Use the info text if you don't want to put it in the project name itself.

Re: Anyone try big Sur yet? Live won't open for me.

Is there really anything you need in Big Sur? I’m still on Mojave with zero reason to upgrade. I only upgraded to that to test Luna. I’ve got an order in for a ‘build to order’ 27” 2020 iMac, which in theory should be delivered by the 20th. My MBP is starting to show its age and I’ve been speccing ...

Re: Preference: Put track names ON THE LEFT.

This would be my preference, Romance languages reading from left to right, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I think the philosophy is that you’ll spend lot of time in Live using the browser, less on mixing.

Re: Solo safe please lord

It means you can set a track so that it will still play when another track is solo’d. Another feature that will be useful for some, and just in the way for others.
