Re: Same Devices -> Diffrent channels

If both controllers are hard-wired to the same MIDI channel, I'm not sure you can do anything. If they send different messages, then you might be able to split them apart filtering those out of two different receiving tracks. Maybe a Max for Live plugin. I have a vague memory about a hardware MIDI c...

Re: Seeking help connecting my Keyboard directly to ableton

It will work. There is apparently a Keyboard Out on/off setting somewhere in the functions according to the manual. Make sure this is on, and you should get MIDI data through the Scarlett's MIDI IN port. Make sure you have Out from the keyboard to In on the interface. And make sure the Scarlett MIDI...

Re: WORKSPACE - ShortKeys that save your L i v e

My simple key remapping for those that just want single key access to the existing functions. Thought it might save people a little time learning how it works. This won't affect other programs because of the #IfWinActive statement. https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/KeyList.htm for other keys. Just add...

Re: Beginner Arrangement Question

It’s a long process. If things are muddy, watch out for a tendency a lot of us have to like instruments and sounds that all work in the same basic frequency range. A symphony orchestra is the perfect example of what to combine and what not to.

Re: Why are all my MIDI notes the same length?

If you still want to use the pencil, you can hold option/alt and drag the tail to the length you want. You can also turn the grid off though you'll lose onset quantization as well. You can also change the note length by changing the grid resolution. This can be very quick once you get used to it, th...

Re: Upgrade Piano Roll to match FL's for a better User Experience

Have you tried shortening and duplicating? Please stop suggesting workarounds. Although it's been a year and a few months since I switched to Live, I successfully finished some commercial projects and I'm pretty much aware all the features. If you want to split eight notes, which each lengths is di...

Re: Press play on drum rack

As far as I know you need to either use the play computer keyboard function or a MIDI controller. If someone knows better, I'm sure they'll chime in. I'm not even sure why there's a play button rather than just single-clicking the pad to play it. A lot of the time, however, I discover a good reason ...

Re: How to raise volume on a portion of the track

Note that for a MIDI clip, if you show the envelopes in detail view you can select Mixer from the topmost drop-down menu, then select Volume from the one below it, and quickly enter the automation for the clip by simply dragging the blue line you see up or down with the mouse. You can do the same th...

Re: Linked/alias clips finally coming to Live!

I suppose, but I like to keep things simple, organic, and variable. I’m simply happier with the results when I don’t shortcut the creative process. I’m not espousing this for everyone, just myself. If Ableton implements linked clips and it helps folks, that’s great. I was just responding to the query.

Click on the keyboard icon at the top of Live, then you can “play” it with the computer keyboard.

Re: Linked/alias clips finally coming to Live!

Once upon a time I did this, but something about things being exactly the same started bugging me almost immediately. Now if I copy I invariably alter or re-record so that the material better fits whatever point in the song it occurs in. I have zero desire for this feature but can see the utility in...

OP doesn't like it, but for people that don't know, Livescore is free (it used to be paid) and can be downloaded from here:

Thanks.
