Note that the sample preview doesn't play through the Apollo either. I'm guessing that I could make another aggregate device with the Apollo first and it would work.
Switching the audio output device to the Apollo on its own gets around this. But when I did this, the entry on the master channel ...

Re: Metronome only heard on main output in macOS aggregate device
I'm aware of the former, but where is the latter? In the browser? I see no select for the output, only volume.
Like I said, it's fine through the Focusrite's main outputs, but not the Apollo's, though everything else works just fine, inputs, main output, etc.
Oh, and thanks!

Should I report this as a bug?

Metronome only heard on main output in macOS aggregate device
I have a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre and an Apollo Twin X combined in an aggregate device under macOS. Most everything (inputs, outputs) seem to work, but I can only hear the metronome if I use the Clarett 4Pre's first output. If I use the Apollo output, it's missing. Everything else is routed fine.

Re: MIDI Input lag -- don't group MIDI and audio tracks then use FX?!
Also note that this was at 44.1 with a 64 sample buffer and a listed latency of around 2 ms. If you have the computer and audio interface that allow it, you might up the sample rate and lower the buffer while recording MIDI.

Re: MIDI Input lag -- don't group MIDI and audio tracks then use FX?!
I suppose as an alternative you could save a mix, record your MIDI in a fresh project containing only the mixdown, then save the track and open it in the original song. if you've done a lot of work mixing, that is.

MIDI Input lag -- don't group MIDI and audio tracks then use FX?!
So, i was trying to play in some piano parts to an existing song. Bad lag/latency made it almost impossible. I knew it had to be something in the song as I tested with a new song and no lag. Also, the MIDI input light didn't seem laggy, just the sound from the virtual instrument.

Re: Massive playback latency in project
Mystery solved. Pro-Q 4 was causing the massive latency. I started deleting whole groups of tracks until the latency issue disappeared. I then perused the guitar tracks whose removal solved the issue and started removing plug-ins. Removing Pro-Q 4 from both tracks ended the extreme latency.

Massive playback latency in project
All of a sudden, I have massive playback latency in a project where I never noticed it before. I’m talking nearly a second. This is at 44.1 with a 64 sample buffer, so that’s not it. None of my other projects suffer this and I’ve tried deleting plugins but it persists. There’s no offset on any track ...

Proper Audio File Name Format for import and auto-zone creation in Sampler
So the conundrum is, when I capture using Logic's Autosampler, it spits out files in the proper format of instrument_name-note_number-velocity, but there's also a four-letter hash at the end. These import into Sampler perfectly with the zones automatically set up.
However, when I manually name ...

Oh, real time. About all I know about is MIDI Guitar. ACE Studio does the best job of any non-real time I know of.

Re: Button disappears in Ableton 12
My standard solution to Live's less-than-optimal keyboard mapping and lack of customization is to use Keyboard Maestro. It can intercept key presses and mimic menu selections if Ableton doesn't assign a key command. AutoHotKey on Windows.

Re: Possible to make Ableton NOT override the selections when comping?
Huh? Do you mean over-write when you're loop recording audio? Just open the take lanes. All the previous loops are there. If you're on an older Live, double-click and open the editor. Everything you recorded will still be there if you scroll to the left. Live does not immediately erase any audio you ...
