I think Ableton should use the same method as FLStudio. Just move the knob on screen then choose learn midi, move the knob on your controller and you're done. No need to look through lists of obscure parameter names to determine which one to use.

i found a couple of posts with a similar topic in a search but none that fix my problem...

when i have live open and try to open fruity loops I get an error message that says: Failed to ope the FL Studio audio engine, Another instance may already be running, if not, try to reset the FL settings ...

The only way to automate 3rd party VSTs via MIDI control is thru Live's stand-in controls in teh foldout for the VST in the insert rack.

Not very prectical for most VSTs simply because the Live foldout shows grey sliders with cryptic names for most parameters

Its almost impossible to find the one ...

If you're looking for an FM synth. This is not necessarily the same thing as Operator, but pretty nice in it's own way.

It's still not working, but as a workaround I use EnerygXT VSTi and instantiate the Fruity VSTi from within the EnergyXT VSTi. EnergyXT is great for all kinds of other stuff too. Check it out at http://xt-hq.com/

Yes live as the rewire master, and Max as the slave. The reason I asked, is that my friend is able to send midi to live from Max in this arrangement on his Mac. We just confirmed this a little while ago. Doesn't work on my PC for some reason. So I guess I'll pose this question again. What gives ...

I use Live with FLStudio and I don't hve latency issues like you are describing. It works pretty well, but I do have one small issue with MIDI latency. Sending MIDI from Live to an instrument in FLStudio incurs a small latency of 10 msec. If I use FL's sequencer to play all the instruments in FL I ...

I have already sent one, and received a reply that they would look into it.
If more people send bug reports, they may look into it sooner than later.

You can't do it with NRPNs but you can use high resolution (14 bit absolute) CC messages. Set the knob on the BCR to 14 bit absolute CC. Then midi map the knob to a parameter in live. When you turn the knob during the mapping process, look at the bottom of the live screen, it should say 14 bit ...

I'm having the same problem here. I've tried it on Mac with Safari, and on Windows XP with IE and Firefox. It keeps going between the enter serial number page and the choose your version page. I've tried lowering the cookie policy to lowest, but still no luck.

I forgot to mention, Live just hangs when I try to instantiate the VSTi. Happens with both the Stereo and the Multi out versions.
