Anybody know why my audio file.wav that I imported from Beatport sounds choppy when it is placed into an audio track into ableton? I am trying to edit whole songs for Djing purposes... thanks!

i have ableton live 4
went through all the patches, instruments (simpler, impulse) and have created a few loops and songs.

a few things are struggling for me though
1
- the beats...i have a pretty good sense of rhythm and think if i had BETTER or more sounds (reinforced), then it would sound so ...

track 1- simpler trigo and chord
track 2- impulse set artefact short
track 3- simpler trigo and chord

(my desktop sony vaio has no problem with this load (my soundcard is a different story) but my laptop just gets overloaded so much faster)

i want to edit wav samples on live
how do i find or download a sample editor

(i thought it came with live?)

effects---chorus, reverb on one midi track
plus two midi tracks = 80% overload

the audio overload percentage (shown in top right corner of live) gets up to 80 % after only like 3 midi clips play with a couple effects total.

I have the g4 powerbook, i thought it could handle more...

any suggestions??? i know i can make everything mono, but would that really do a whole lot ...

how do i cut up with live?? is there a split button?
last time i was trying things I couldnt do a thing to the wav file...(is the wav file the best way to go with audio

can ableton cut up and edit audio tracks (wav)?
what programs are known to make it easy to edit sound files and save the chopped up or rearranged pieces, to sequence in live?

Will a G4 powerbook 12" work alright with ableton live??
I have a FIREWIRE AUDIOPHILE audio interface w MIDI (do I need it?)
does this audiophile replace the sound card on the powerbook? and then I just route the sound from the audiophile to some speakers??

Im still in the beginning stages ...

The single best thing you can do to really improve the sound quality and feel of your mixes and blends, is not to use a midi mixer. get a sound card with 8 outs, 4 stereo pairs and do the level mixing on a (good) dj mixer.
The sume of chanels to the master track in live, and most other digital ...

DJING with LIVE---is this correct?

MIDI mixer to control live (hooked to computer)?
computer soundcard for OUTPUT through stereo out of card (external)?
cue for headphones through soundcard...

any corrections, suggestions, necesities that i am overlooking?
