are you sure it's not that your buffer is to small? Try lengthening the ASIO buffer and see if the noise goes away -- if not - there's a way in which you can 'round off' the beginning and end of samples in Abelton somewhere...(or maybe I dreamt it...)

another thought...what version of 8 lite? make sure you have the latest and greatest build for lite.

loads of possible reasons - how much ram? how fast a processor? what else is running? what plugins are you using? In other words, most likely a resource issue - at least I would want to rule that out first.

You can either use a volume envelope to create silences or just leave gaps between samples where you want the silence to be - alternatively export the wav to a wav editor and create a silence directly into the wav file.

What type of problems are you having? I don't think I've ever had an issue so bad I've had to resort to a uninstall/reinstall. There's so many moving parts - it might not be Able10 that's the issue -- could be a plugin or an ASIO or driver issue. Out of the box Able10 is generally pretty stable.

APC40 and Drumcore

I use the EMU 0404 (2 ins 2 outs) with Windows 7 64bit and have had no problems at all. I use mine in a home studio with less CPU power than you and use it to record guitar,bass, various vsti's -- so push it quite hard and it has never let me down thus far.
