Comping is just as important for Midi recording as it is for audio recording
A. Lets say your playing in a difficult piano or synth part trying to get the feel just right.
B. Your creatively messing about and you want to audition different sections of what you played
and mute the ones ...

If Ableton had COMPING then I would hardly ever use my current DAW anymore.
Now that would be cool - I could finish many projects 100% in Ableton.
