Having no problem with Live at all here. Not able to repeat OP's results. This is how I tested:
Live 8.3, DCAM Cypher on 4x realtime with 4 voices, 4 unison playing straight 16th notes on C3.
Was able to load 31 instances before I heard the first dropout. Then I turned on HyperThreading using the ...

Re: Control selected track \w keyboard shortcuts
I would be willing to pay money for this if it was available on Windows 7.
All I want is Shift + S, M and R to Solo, Mute, and Arm the currently selected track (just like Pro Tools!) A shortcut to fold/unfold automation lanes would be icing, but I'd pay for the first three alone.

Re: Why does Battery sound better than simpler or sam for kicks?
Hi B3! Lots of misinformation in this thread from other users who are assuming some things that aren't true. I have a mind like yours and ask myself questions like this all the time, in my experience I've found that 95% of the time it's a placebo effect and the sounds are in truth, exactly the same ...

Amazing, beautiful. You literally could not find a better quote fot the subject, Tone Deft.

This is complete trash and a waste of everyone's time.

Re: Feel like testing your ears?
This is a completely unscientific faux-study.
The fact is, you were an advocate of real-time rendering before you even started this test, and your bias has a strong semblance to the outcome. You WANTED real-time rendering to be named better. You've openly talked about how superior you believe it to ...

Re:
Yes, please make this happen.
In general, it's very difficult to make automation point stay in the value the volume currently is when you add a point. If my volume is 0 and I add an automation point, it's usually something like -0.66 etc.
This AND what's in the original post +1,000,000.

Ableton 8.2.1 crashing every 5-10 minutes.
Hi Ableton - as the subject says, Ableton is cold crashing on me every 5-10 minutes while I'm working. I've used Ableton for years and have never (maybe once?) had it crash on me. This started happening out of nowhere, as far as I can tell. I don't use 3rd party VSTs, it's a clean, no internet ...

Re: best small EQ plug to use?
If you have a Mackie or whatever lying around, you could always send some white noise thru it into Live, put a Spectrum plug on the input channel, manipulate the Mackie EQ and have a look at the results. Then re-create similar visual curves on the Spectrum with an EQ8.

Re: Am I trippin'? Track solo ignores automated mutes?
I will try rendering the individual track, see if it prints the effects.
It doesn't.
But, if you mute all other tracks instead of soloing that one, it will render as you want, i think.
We shouldn't have to do that. It should just work. That's why you pay money for a product like this.
