Update: The cab's insurance company have agreed to pay my claim in full, plus all costs associated with it (i.e. postage and costs of reair quotes etc).

So a big old cheque coming my way next week with which to buy toys. Hmmm toys.

Still not sure on the macbook pro idea. There's a lot of reasons ...

thanks kinetic.

I've read other people have weird things happenign when they render to a bit rate otehr than what the samples were recorded at, plus i think track by tack it's labour-intensive. I'm looking for a more batch type approach to it.

I'm sure Adobe Audition/Cool Edit Pro has the power to ...

Changing samplerate within Live without repitching?

Hi.

I've recorded my band for the first time using Live as a full DAW - wow, how quick and easy!

Only hassle is I tried recording at 96khz sample rate, for about 8 channels of audio plus me running a couple impulses and quite a few compressors, utilitys, filters, reverbs etc. Was fine at the time ...

MOTU 828 Mk2 & MIDI from FCB1010

Not sure this is in the correct forum, but hopefully osmeone can help.

I use a Motu 828Mk2 with Live to grab everyone in the band's signal, so i can sample and effect them. The system seems to handle this fine.

I recently acquired a Behringer FCB1010, which works excellently on my desktop with a ...

Get a midi translator - there are heaps of threads on this forum that cover midi trasnlators.

Plogue Bidule or Bome's midi translators are two - but I think they might be for PC only. There are definitely mac ones out there.

Then just use that translator to convert whatever midi instruction ...

in fact - impulse will let you do this. (I know you are using battery)

If you think the midi "piano roll" timing and samples are spot on, but the drums still sound a bit off, just load up a bunch of audio tracks and in the inputs choose the various outputs form the impulse - there should be 8 ...

really glad to see other people having this problem. I was tearing my hair out.,

I bought a bcr2000 second hand (almost new) from ebay. plugged her in, she worked fine without updating the drivers.

Then I installed driver 1.1.1.1 whihc was on a disk the seller had included. Instant problems. Win ...

the bummer with batteries is how the performance of the device is affected as they run out. Would hate to think how I'd be if they died mid-performance at a gig.

Marquis: Yes, he is absolutely right. To acheive the highest sound quality, wordclock is essential.

Heh... World Clock. I almost started a new thread beacuase of the title - but opted not to, in fear of "Seartch n00b" flames. :)

So...

To achieve the highest sound quality, sure. But isn't that ...

Had to bump this.

A band member (a doctor of physics) seems to think word clock is absolutely mandatory if we are to progress with recording our band’s work. I think otherwise and need your advice.

At the moment, all our inputs are analogue-born (ie. Vocals, bass) or are born-digital and converted ...

macca - sounds liek you are assignign the knob to Scene 1 launch, not the scene select. If you click midi map mode in Live, then the scene select is underneaththe master channel, You have buttons for forward and back one scene (great for buttons) and a scene selector - forgive my not remembering the ...

The key is that the impulse drums (as most drum kit software) are just triggered by a midi note. In Impulse, it's C3 to C4. You can trigger impulse by any hardware that sends in a midi note on for those notes.

The trigger finger has presets 10 and 11 already set up with c3-c4 as the bottom 8 pads ...

I had a similar problem with my girl, until we had a serious chat about it.

I told her, with absolute honesty, that for the first time in my life I was passionate about something. By "something" I mean as in hobby/job - not as in person - I didn't want her thinking music and she were competing for ...

try a "buffer override" plugin. I know there was one called "Buffer override" floating around a while back. Not sure if it's a freebie though.

I always found I lacked the control to use it properly, but that was before I discovered the joys of midi controllers or really learned how to use ...
