Re: SysEx MIDI Dump from Virus -> Live 8.2.5.???

OK, I found the free ware MIDIOX (for PC users). Now I can make the MIDI dump.

But I can't open the files in Live 8. Not as a *.syx or *.mid.

That's so stupid!

However, Ableton shout complete the MIDI implementation in Live! Old synthesisers are always a source for creativity.

Re: Microphone + ableton problem

Hey, so i have this problem that just started recently.
Whenever I try recording with mic in my Ableton the sound mutes every few seconds, it kind of hangs.

Your mic is a USB-mic with an internal cheap audio interface.
I guess this mic has no ASIO driver (just MME / WDM).

Do you use ASIO4ALL ...

SysEx MIDI Dump from Virus -> Live 8.2.5.???

Hi,
I want to save some sounds from my old (but nice) Access Virus A direct into my Live tracks.

Signal path:

Virus - (MIDI) -> MIDISport 4x4 - (USB) -> Live (recording MIDI input)

But nothing happens. I can't record the MIDI data in Live!? :(

The LED of the MIDISport is flashing up, when I push ...

Re: Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

you could take a look at the supplied ableton racks that do this, there is 'brooklyn compression' in the audio effects rack/dynamics folder, as well as one session drums preset, 'Kit-DirectNatural-Stick-FX(CompressorNetwork' that does this, though I haven't played with either one that much. maybe ...

Re: Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

Ok, I could reconstruct the behaviour.
In this Demoloop you can hear the
1st - the original loop with the send compressor
2nd - the original loop with the compressor inside an effect rack

Re: Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

most of the delay you might hear return tracks happens when

A: the returns have their sends activated
B: the returns are routed to an audio track rather than the master.

this is because those actions result in potential feedback loops, which are not possible to calculate PDC for.
So, doing ...

Re: Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

you could just put a short delay on the 'dry' channel, something like voxengo sound delay (freeware), which you can specify samples for the delay. Will delay everything a little bit but hopefully you can line them up.

Thanks for the hint, man.

But I got it now. :)
I made some adjustments of the ...

Re: Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

The Sends are delayed a little for some technical reason I don't remember. But that's why - the slight delay causes the phasing.

:? really? how long is the delay?? i'm guessing it must be really low. :?: :?:

The delay amount really depends on your project, how many effects are being used, your ...

Re: Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

Ok, that works! No phasing :) and only one channel in the mix.

But, why it doesn't works with the send channels??? I don't understand it???

I guess it is a bug in Live.

Nice, I give it a try.

Motown Trick in Ableton Live?

Hi,
I want to do the 'Motown Trick' or 'New York Drums Trick' with Ableton Live (8.2.x).

I use a compressor plug-in in a send channel and make a parallel compression of a drumloop, but it doesn't
work correctly, because I have a phasing effect between the channels.

It works better when I use a ...

I taste this with other plug-ins like the NI KORE Player fx and it looks like the same.

Audio Rack (Live 7.02) forget the mapped knobs after save...

Hi,
I want to use the Audio Rack of Live 7.0.2 to create an ultimate drum-module. In my plug-in chain I use a MDE-X Overdrive/Hi.Gain (1.2.6) of the KORG analogue edition 2007 and the drive parameter is mapped to the macro knobs of the audio rack. After saving my settings and open it again the macro ...
