Hold fire there... I am in the same position as you... and asked the same question a little while ago.
basically the instruments are exactly the same...there's just a different GUI and tighter integration with Live.
Robert Henke implied that there'd be a possible discount/crossgrade and advised me ...

Possible AAS instrument crossgrade?
As a happy Live and AAS user (Live 6 and all the AAS instruments)... I was wondering if there's
1. any reason at all to buy the new instruments (perhaps for lower cpu usage and improved integration with Live?
2. any kind of crossgrade discount?
Thoughts?

Anyone confirm that new instruments are AAS synths...?
HI
I noticed a post complaining that Ableton have used the (wonderful) AAS physical modeling synths for the new instruments in 7... if this is the case (and I already own the whole collection) are the new instruments a waste of money or is the level of integration so great that it makes sense ...

Tracking to Live - Very poor sound quality
Hi,
I've been away from Live for some time... but just upgraded; lots of good stuff in there.
One major problem, that I am sure is something I'm missing.
I track from my mixer into Live (Mainly from MPC and various sound modules). This is no problem in Samplitude SE or Cubase LE, but in Live it ...

Tracking in Live, and midi clock sync (MPC 60II question)
I need to track audio from an MPC60 and a Korg MicroX into my computer...
I generally use FL Studio for bits and pieces, and the MPC for Drums etc... but I do own Live 5 (haven't upgraded...yet).
I need a decent piece of tracking software...and here's the important bit,...that I can sync to my MPC ...

PCMCIA card recommendations: NON NEC chip...
HI,
I have a Presonus Firebox...but I use a pc laptop without a firewire port, so use a PCMCIA card... it's a cheap, non-branded job, and I get a few pops and clicks...
The Presonus website says that the Firebox is not compatible withe NEC chipped PCMCIA cards...
Can ANYONE recommend a PCMCIA ...

Where's the sampler beta link?
Hi,
Got luck and managed to join the beta test group..
However, I haven't managed to find Sampler yet...despite having a reg code...
I'm sure I'm being stupid...anyone tell me where it is?!
